What is Calgary Kurjock Foundation (CKF)?

Kurjock is a Sudanese term which means healing and forgiveness. It was first used by the Sudanese prophet Kulang Ket during times of war and grief. Kurjock was said to bring well-being to the people and promises peace.

Calgary Kurjock Foundation a community and family development association serving refugees, war survivors, former child soldiers, and families who have experienced hardships, loss, trauma, and incarceration. Resources offered include social and economic education and development planning support, social service and networking awareness, mentorship, and peer support. CKF works alongside individuals to enhance a sense of well-being, connection, healing, and forgiveness.

Our vision is to encourage and support resilience and flourish among refugees, war survivors, former child soldiers, and their families and communities by utilizing a trauma informed and strength-based approach.
